Workers’ Party to boycott local elections ( Ammar Amroussia)

The Workers' Party decided to boycott local elections which, it said, are produced by "a coup regime," said party leader Ammar Amroussia. These elections are "a step forward in putting in place a hybrid political system." This is an unprecedented "electoral farce" in the country's history, Amroussia Sunday told reporters on the sidelines of a party national council meeting (September 30-October 1). "This would destroy what remains of the State," he added. The national council meeting focused on the current state of affairs in the country, the regressive move in freedoms and the decline in the quality of life, Amroussia added. "The party will make no compromise on freedoms and democray and will seek to osbtruct decree n° 5 4 which targeted many journalists and bloggers," he further said.
