Weekly Review – Tunindex gains 0.3% despite poor performance of most sector indices

The Tunindex showed resilience during the trading week from September 4 to 8, despite the unfavourable trend of most of the sectoral indices. It recorded a gain of 0.3% to 8968.8 points, bringing its annual performance to a robust +10.6%, according to the analysis of broker "Tunisie Valeurs". Trading volumes remained low, despite a notable block transaction in SFBT shares for a total of TND 3.1 million. Over the course of the week, a total of TND 16.1 million was traded on the market. "Tunisie Leasing et Factoring was the standout performer of the week, with its shares rising an impressive 6.4% to TND 11.820 per share on a trading volume of TND 98,000. SFBT stole the limelight as the week's top performer, rising 5.2% to reach a price of TND 14,400 per share. Notably, SFBT shares injected liquidity of TND 6.1 million into the market, accounting for 38% of the week's total trading volume. Conversely, SERVICOM was one of the week's most prominent laggards as its shares fell 8% to TND 0.230 on a modest volume of TND 9,000. It is worth noting that the company has yet to publish its financial statements for the 2022 financial year, despite being well ahead of regulatory deadlines. The performance of Euro-Cycles was also lacklustre during the week, with its shares losing 4.9% to close at TND 13.300. Notably, trading activity in Euro-Cycles shares amounted to TND 632,000 during the week.
