UTICA, Algerian counterpart to urge governments to develop investment strategy

Correspondent Leila Ben Brahim)- The Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (French :UTICA) and its Algerian counterpart will urge their respective governments to develop a clear-cut strategy intended to stimulate investment and trade, Samir Majoul said in Algiers. The Tunisian and Algerian governments need to ease access to funding, encourage free trade and boost entrepreneurship, UTICA President also told TAP on Tuesday evening on the sidelines of a Tunisian-Algerian business forum attended by Prime minister Ahmed Hachani and his opposite number Aymen Ben Abderrahmane. Hachani's attendance of the business forum is a "good message." Such events are an opportunity for the two governments to assess the state of affairs and devise strategies to attain economic growth, Majoul said. There is common will to harness opportunities of growth. It is likewise imperative for Tunisia and Algeria to achieve economic sovereignty in several sectors, he added. Both countries bet on Africa to give imptus to investment. The future lays in the African continent which boasts human resources and renewable energies and considering its need to achieve growth.
