Tunisia’s Cup 2023-2024 (Quarter-finals): C. Africain qualify for semi-finals

Tunis: Club Africain booked their place in the semi-finals of the Tunisian soccer Cup (2023-2024), after defeating US Monastir 2-1 in the last quarter-final at the Ben Jannet stadium in Monastir on Sunday evening. Club Africain opened the scoring in the 29th minute through Houssem Souissi before US Monastir equalised four minutes later through Chiheb Jebali (33'). The Tunis Club were reduced to 10 men in the second half after Ameur Omrani was sent off in the 59th-minute dismissal, but Bassem Srarfi's 76th-minute strike saw them through. The Red and Whites now join Stade Tunisien, O. Beja and CA Bizertin in the semi-final. Stade Tunisien had booked their place earlier in the afternoon by defeating Etoile du Sahel 4-2 after extra time (2-2 after regular time) in Sousse. The goals came from Haythem Jouini, who scored twice (3' and 10'), Hamza Ben Abda (50') and Fraj Ben Njima (94 og) for Stade Tunisien, and Louay Ben Hassine (44') and Hamza Jelassi (69') for Etoile. CA Bizertin and Olympique de Beja, the h olders, eliminated SC Ben Arous in Bizerte on Friday (1-0 aet) and AS Marsa in Zouiten on Saturday (3-2 aet).
