Addis Ababa: Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nabil Ammar, has emphasized the significant potential for development in the bilateral relationship between Tunisia and Ethiopia. The Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs is in Addis Ababa participating at the 44th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of African Union a head of the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of AU, which will be held on Saturday and Sunday. In an exclusive interview with the Ethiopian News Agency the Minister mentioned about his meeting with Ethiopia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Taye Atske-Selassie a day ago in which they discussed various avenues for cooperation, including economic and cultural exchange, as well as joint committees and reciprocal visits. Minister Ammar expressed his satisfaction with the existing excellent relations between the two nations, emphasizing their longstanding historical ties. "The bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Tunisia are excellent, and w e must support them. There is great scope for their development," Ammar stated, underscoring the importance of preserving these distinguished relations. The meeting between the two foreign ministers was characterized as highly positive and fruitful. He regarded it as an opportunity to explore avenues for collaboration in diverse fields, such as the economy, culture, and political relations. "We discussed the possibility of developing bilateral relations in all fields, including economy, culture, and also regarding exchanging visits and joint committees. The meeting was very positive." Recognizing the significance of cultural connections between Tunisia and Ethiopia, he emphasized the shared heritage and ancient history of the two nations. Hence, Ammar stressed the importance of developing cultural relations between the two countries, as the two peoples are ancient and have a long history, and there are many areas of cooperation in the cultural field. He called for continued support and collaborati on in the economic and commercial sectors, highlighting the positive outcomes of a recent visit by a Tunisian delegation to Addis Ababa. Expressing his pleasure at visiting Ethiopia, the Tunisian Foreign Minister commended the country for hosting the annual African Conference. "We always come to Ethiopia with great pleasure. This is a country that has a great African meaning. It is an important meeting, especially since our world is now going through a difficult period," stated Minister Ammar, emphasizing the need for African countries to work together to overcome challenges. The African Union summit meetings, scheduled to take place in Addis Ababa from February 17th to 18th, will bring together delegations from various African countries. The summit presents an opportunity for further dialogue and cooperation among African nations.
