Tunisia has most powerful passport in North Africa (Henley Passport Index)

Tunisia has the most powerful passport in North Africa ex aequo with Morocco, according to the 2024 Henley Passport Index, with access to 71 visa-free destinations. Tunisia is ranked 71st, moving up 5 spots compared to 2023 in the rankings released by British Henley and Partners- the largest globally integrated residence and citizenship advisory firm in the world - based on data of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Henley Passport Index ranks all 199 passports in the world in terms of their Henley Passport Power (HPP) score. In Africa, the Tunisian passport is ranked 9th ex aequo with Morocco and Zambia. Seychelles (156 visa-free destinations), Mauritius (150 countries without visa), South Africa (108 visa-free destinations), Bostwana ( 91 destinations) Namibia and Lesotho (80 destinations) feature in the top 5 of African countries with the most powerful passports in the world. Tunisia and Morocco took the seventh spot in the Arab world. The UAE lead the top 5 (180 visa-free destinat ions) followed by Qatar (108 destinations), Kuwait (102 destinations), Bahrain ( 91 destinations) and Oman (60 destinations). Saudi Arabia was ranked 6th. With visa-free access to 194 countries, the French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Singaporean passports are the most powerful.
