Tunisia can rely on EU support (Ursula von der Leyen) [Upd 1]

correspondent Sofien Manai)- Tunisia can always count on the EU's support to address various challenges and forge ahead with the reform process, said Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, as she met Thursday with Premier Ahmed Hachani in Davos. " The European bloc keeps on supporting Tunisia, a privileged partner which has an important potential and boasts many opportunities in promising sectors," she added. The Prime Minister is leading the Tunisian delegation to works of thethe 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (Davos 2024).which works officially opened on Monday. The talk focused on the economic and social state of affairs in Tunisia and ways to boost cooperation and trade. "We are working in concert with Tunisia to implement the various aspects of the strategic economic and financial partnership, in particular," Ursula von der Leyen said. The European Union is Tunisia's biggest foreign investor and trading partner. Earlier on Thursday, Hachani had a talk with Swiss President Viola Amherd. The meeting, mainly attended by Finance Minister and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, offered the opportunity to lay emphasis on cooperation relations and identify new ways to give them a boost. The Swiss President said her country and Tunisia share the values of freedom, peace and human rights.
