Tunisia and Algeria eye strategic economic partnership

Tunis: Tunisia and Algeria have the potential to forge a strategic economic partnership commensurate with their distinguished political relations, Minister of Trade and Export Development Kalthoum Ben Rejeb and Speaker of the Algerian People's National Assembly Ibrahim Boughali considered. Currently on an official visit to Tunisia, July 26-29, on head of a delegation of MPs, Boughali underlined during a working session on Saturday with the Trade Minister, that the two countries can establish a far-reaching strategic partnership based on economic complementarity and integration. Ben Rejab, for her part, called for pooling efforts to develop the Tunisian-Algerian border regions, reviewing the main outcome of the survey conducted by her department on this issue. She added that this survey could be a starting point for the establishment of commercial and logistical zones on the Tunisian-Algerian borders to encourage the development and diversification of trade, in addition to combating parallel trade and smugg ling.
