Trade balance in fish products reports suplus of TND 286 millions at end of November 2023

The trade balance in fish products reported a suplus of TND 286 millions at the end of November 2023, down from TND 388 million in 2022 (- 26.3%), data released Friday by the National Observatory of Agriculture (ONAGRI) show. Exports of fishery products totalled 32,000 tonnes with a total value of TND 712 million at the end of November 2023, shrinking 6% in value and 3% in quantity compared to the same period in 2022. Likewise, export prices dropped 0.3% in comparison with November 2022. The most exported products are fish (13,200 tonnes), shellfish(9, 200 tonnes), canned and semi-cured fish (7,200 tonnes). Tunisian fisheries are exported to 45 countries, mainly Italy (33%), Libya (17%) and Spain (13%). The value of imports edged up 16.1% at the end of November 2023 to TND 426 million. Imported quantities grew 17% à to 69,000 tonnes while import prices stagnated compared to the same period in 2022.
