TAP organises international symposium on media coverage of immigration issues in Mediterranean November 23-24

TAP News Agency is organising an International Symposium on "Immigration Issues in the Mediterranean: Media coverage and approaches" on November 23 and 24 in Gammarth, Tunis. The symposium will be opened by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mounir Ben Rejiba, and will be attended by the Secretary General of the Alliance of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN) and ten representatives of Mediterranean news agencies that are members of the Alliance, which Tunisia is chairing from May 2023 to May 2024. Speakers at the symposium will address the various aspects and causes of migration. A highlight of the event will be a thought-provoking video projection on immigration, produced by TAP, which will provide a visual context for the day's discussions. On Friday morning, a field visit is planned, starting from the port of Rades, to follow the work of the Coast Guard units inspecting the coasts. The second day of the symposium will feature several presenta tions on "Official news sources in relation to migration developments" and "Media coverage of migration issues in the Mediterranean", as well as a dialogue session to draft an "Ethical Charter on Media and Migration".
