Support programme for Tunisian AI startups launches

A support programme geared towards Tunisian artificial intelligence (AI) startups launched with the participation of 25 businesses under Invest for Jobs, the brand of the Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition," the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) said. It is part of eight-month AI-Rise programme under which recipients access sessions of mentoring, expert networks, specialised workshops and resources, GIZ said on Wednesday. Startups are hence connected to a network of essential resources that help them develop and implement AI solutions in an efficient way to foster Open Innovation. The Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition" was launched in 2019 by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It is intended to create, along with enterprises, up to 100, 000 quality jobs and improve work conditions in partner countries (Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal and Tunisia). The initiative offers counselling and provides contacts and financial support to German, European and African companies to iron out barriers to investment.
