Stock market: Tunindex starts the week on a positive note (+0.03%)

The stock market started the second week of August on a relatively stable footing. The benchmark index rose slightly (+0.03%) to 8,920.4 points, as reported by broker Tunisie Valeurs. Trading volumes remained low during the session, at 1 million dinars. "Placements de Tunisie" took the lead. SICAF, part of the BT Group, gained 3.5% to TND 41, with trading volumes of TND 5,000. The share of 'STAR' turned positive during the session. The insurance company's shares improved by 3.1% to TND 165, although it should be noted that trading activity was modest, totalling TND 35,000 for the session. STIP was the worst performer of the session. With no transactions recorded, the stock of Tunisia's only tyre manufacturer fell by 4% to TND 3.820. It's worth noting that this fall widened its losses for the year to -4.5%. The session was marked by profit-taking in SOTUVER. Shares in the hollow glass specialist fell by 2.3% to TND 12.200, generating an outflow of TND 138,000. Attijari Bank attracted the most attention during the session. Shares in the Attijari Wafa Bank subsidiary rose a modest 0.6% to TND 46.900, benefiting from buying interest. This stock drove the market with capital inflows of TND 283,000, representing 25% of the trading volume on the bourse.
