Stock market regains momentum on Thursday with 0.1% uptick

The stock market has regained momentum on Thursday, bringing an end to a seven-session downward streak. The benchmark index saw a slight 0.1% uptick to 8,434.1 points on Thursday, accompanied by a modest trading volume of TND 2 million, as reported by broker Tunisie Valeurs. SAM took the spotlight during the session; shares of the office furniture specialist improved 5.9% to TND 4.700, capturing a transaction flow of TND 250,000. SOTRAPIL continued its positive trend, as the hydrocarbon pipeline transporter's stock marked a 4.5% increase to TND 15.8, indicating a limited trading volume of TND 23,000 for the session. Conversely, CELLCOM found itself at the bottom of the Tunindex. Not subject to transactions, the stock witnessed a 3.2% dip to TND 1.500. Carthage Cement emerged as one of the major losers of the session. The stock of Tunisia's leading cement sector player decreased by 2% to TND 1.930, attributed to profit-taking. Throughout the session, the stock attracted capital totalling TND 88,000. Att ijari Bank exhibited the highest dynamism in the session. The subsidiary of the Attijariwafa Bank Group concluded the session on a positive note, gaining 1.4% at TND 44.100.
