Sousse: UAE ambassador inquires about investment opportunities in region’s tourist sites

Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Tunis, Iman Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Al Salami, paid a visit to the governorate of Sousse on Thursday, where she visited a number of tourist sites to explore investment potential.

Accompanied by the governor of Sousse, Nabil Ferjani, the diplomat went within the framework of this visit to the Gulf ground in Port El Kantaoui, in order to examine the possibilities of increasing the volume of investment in the company of Studies and Development Of Sousse North, which was created in 1973 with a contribution of 32% of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.

The ambassador attended during this visit a presentation on the activities of the company in question, which is in need of liquidity, with financial needs for restructuring, amounting to 18.5 million dinars.

In a statement to TAP, the UAE ambassador pledged to convey the company's aspirations to decision-makers in the UAE, stressing her country's openness to pursuing investment efforts in Tunisia in various fields.

Faced with structural difficulties, the company of Studies and Development Of Sousse North is currently unable to dispose of its annual expenses which amount to 7 million dinars, accumulating debts with its partners (social funds, suppliers, tax authorities, agents).
