Séno: actors harmonize their points of view on governance and the maturation of projects

The provincial consultation framework (CCP) of Séno held its second ordinary session on Monday, September 29, 2024, to reflect on local governance, the challenges of citizen participation and the process of maturation of projects and programs in Burkina Faso. The CCP is a consultative structure bringing together development actors operating at the provincial level. According to the High Commissioner of the province of Séno, Mr. Wulfran Emile Bamas, its vocation is to be a space for dialogue between the actors of decentralized rural development with a view to seeking a synergy of actions and a harmonization of interventions for a greater impact on the development of local authorities. According to Mr. Bamas, the CCP's mission is to ensure the consistency of municipal development plan projects with the provincial land use plan. It also serves as an information and training framework for those involved in the province's development. In addition, the CCP is a place for assessing the possibilities of mobili zing provincial technical resources necessary for the implementation of municipal development plans and the provincial land use plan. He added that the CCP allows for the harmonization of intervention approaches, the collection and dissemination of data necessary for decision-making, as well as the capitalization of experiences and practices useful for the promotion of local development. During this second ordinary session, the participants discussed local governance and the challenges of citizen participation, particularly among young people in the Sahel region, and more particularly in our province, as well as the process of maturing projects and programs in Burkina Faso. The High Commissioner of the Séno province warmly thanked the Union Fraternelle des Croyants (UFC), which, through the PREVENIR project, made this session possible.
