Saudi Hajj Minister announces opening of Tasheer Centre in Tunis and inaugurates Umrah platform

Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah announced on Monday the opening of a "Tasheer" visa application centre in Tunis and the inauguration of a platform dedicated to Umrah. Speaking at a joint press conference with Minister of Religious Affairs, Brahim Chaibi, the Saudi official explained that the centre will make it possible to issue electronic visas for Saudi Arabia and various other services within a few hours. As for the digital platform for Umrah, the minister explained that it will allow Tunisians to choose their accommodation and means of transport, as well as book their plane ticket. It will also provide information on opportunities and new services. He said he had discussed with the Minister of Religious Affairs a number of initiatives to increase the capacity of air routes between the Kingdom and Tunisia and to open new routes. He announced that the Saudi airline will open a new route between Djerba and Jeddah in December. Flights to Medina will be organised from November 2025, he added. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah also announced that, a 15% discount has been offered to Tunisians performing Umrah. An extended meeting has been scheduled between Tunisian travel agencies and Saudi airlines to discuss the facilities to be offered to Tunisian pilgrims.
