Run-off local elections in Kairouan: Rural development and irrigated areas at heart of El Hmidet candidates’ manifestos

Sofiene Seboui and Belgacem El Hmidi, candidates in the run-off local elections in the El Hmidet locality of Mezel Mhiri (Kairouan governorate), have focused their manifestos on the creation of irrigation areas and rural development. Seboui, who won 433 votes in the first round, promised to reduce the region's isolation, improve rural and school transport and ensure access to drinking water in schools. For his part, El Hmidi (271 votes in the first round) promised to improve rural infrastructure in Douar Essaidia, Echaieb, Soualhia, Ali Salem Jelassi, El Azeza in Ben Issa and Ali Ben Nasr, provide a school bus to Douar Issa Briki, create a preparatory school in El Hmidet and renovate primary schools in El Hmidet-Ouest.
