Rally staged in front of US embassy to call for Gaza genocide halt

A rally was staged Sunday by the Tunisian Network for Fight against Normalisation outside the US Embassy in Tunis during which protesters called for an end to the genocide in the Gaza Strip and a break in relations with the United States as the "main aggressor against Palestinians." Men, women and children chanted several slogans such as "sacking the ambassador is a duty" and "breaking the siege is imperative" as they waved the flags of Tunisia and Palestine. This is 19th protest rally to be organised by the Tunisian network since October 18, 2023. Network member Slaheddine Masri told TAP "it is necessary to expel US Ambassador Joey Hood from Tunisian territory, especially following the announcement, in 2022, of his intention to make changes and include Tunisia in the list of countries that normalised relations with the Zionist entity." The rally aims to enlighten the public about the reality of the United States and its involvement in the war on Gaza, he said. United States Air Force serviceman Aaron Bu shnell 's self-immolation on February 25 in front of the seat of the Israeli embassy in Washington "exposes the bias of the United States," he further said.
