Protest in front of French embassy in Tunis in support of Palestine

Tunis: A number of protesters on Tuesday gathered in front of the French embassy in Tunis to denounce France's support to the Zionist entity and demand the expulsion of the French and US ambassadors. The protest, organised by the Tunisian Coordination 'Joint Action for Palestine,' also called for the criminalisation of normalisation with the Zionist entity. 'The French and the Americans are the allies of the Zionists,' shouted the angry protesters downtown Tunis. 'The expulsion of the ambassador is a duty,' 'no US embassy on Tunisian territory,' they shouted, surrounded by law enforcers. At first, dozens of protesters gathered in front of the French embassy, but after a while their numbers swelled considerably. The protesters, who included opposition figures and civil society representatives as well as lawyers, also shouted slogans hostile to French President Emmanuel Macron. Present at the protest were notably Echaob movement Secretary General Zouhaier Maghzaoui, Soumoud Coalition Coordinator General H oussem Hammi, Popular Movement Secretary General Zouhaier Hamdi and Tunisian General Labour Union Deputy Secretary General Samir Cheffi.
