Prime Minister chairs 2nd meeting of high-level committee for speeding up implementation of public projects

Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani urged action during the second meeting of the high-level committee for speeding up the implementation of public projects. He called for the completion of ongoing work at Bardo in order to gradually launch the operation of Line D of the Tunis Rapid Railway Network project, starting in September 2024. The aim is to ensure its full operation by 2026, according to a statement from the Prime Ministry. Line D, which connects Tunis, La Manouba, KobSa and El Mnihla, covers 19.2 km, of which 9.9 km are currently under construction, according to the Tunis Rapid Rail Network (RFR) website. The meeting, which focused on the challenges hindering the progress of various projects in the transport, infrastructure, investment, agriculture and health sectors, announced measures regarding the Tunis-Jelma motorway. The aim is to identify the land for the project and ensure the resumption of the work of the study and mediation committee by the end of 2023. The meeting also stressed the need to sp eed up the resolution of land issues related to the Ben Ghayadha project in the Mahdia governorate and to complete the study on the integrated vision of partnership in that project before December 22. With regard to the implementation of two reservoirs in Saïdia and KalSa Kebira and related water facilities, the necessary measures have been taken to address citizens' objections and accelerate the pace of project implementation. Concerning the construction of a multidisciplinary local hospital in Gafsa, the Prime Minister said that decisions have been taken to resolve issues related to the use of funds allocated to the project and to start construction as soon as possible.
