President Saied meets PM Hachani to discuss outcomes of Davos Forum meetings

President of the Republic, Kais Saied, Friday, had a meeting at Carthage Palace, with Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani, during which they discussed the outcomes of the meetings he had as part of his participation in the World Econmic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland. According to a statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic, the Head of State «clearly rejects conditions or dictates from any foreign party,» adding that «reforms must emanate from the will of the Tunisian people,» «Anyone who seeks to support Tunisia must, first and foremost, respect its choices,» the same source said, adding that «experience has shown that many of those who pretend to support Tunisia are, in reality, increasing its dependency and making its people suffer more.» Tunisia rejects any type of support if it is without respect,» Saied said. The meeting also shed light on fighting corruption and providing basic public facilities to citizens. Saied underlined that «several international bodies are fully aware of this corrupti on, which has become more pervasive over the past decades,» adding that «Tunisian citizens are always the ones who pay a heavy price.
