Addis Ababa: Ethiopia has made extensive preparations in all aspects to host the 44th Executive Council Meeting and the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union. State Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Chairperson of the AU Summit National Committee, Ambassador Birtukan Ayano in her media briefing earlier today, said that the Assembly will be held following Ethiopia's major diplomatic successes on the world stage, recalling Ethiopia's membership of the BRICS bloc and the prestigious Agricola Medal which was awarded to the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. The Permanent Representative of Ethiopia to the AU and UNECA, Ambassador Ayele Lire, presented the activities that were being undertaken in collaboration with the member states to successfully host the conference. Representatives from various member institutions of the National Committee also touched upon the main activities carried out in their respective institutions for the summit. The 44th Ordinary Se ssion of the Executive will be held from February 14th to 15th and the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government will be held from February 17th to 18th respectively, in Addis Ababa.
