The Popular Current has called on the government to address urgent economic and social priorities in order to improve the living conditions of Tunisians. In a statement issued Monday in response to the appointment of a new prime minister, the party stressed the need to mobilise financial resources and find alternatives to support from the International Monetary Fund. In this context, the Popular Current called on the government to present its programme so that its actions can be evaluated at a later date, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution. It also demanded that the vacancies in the various state structures be filled and that certain administrative appointments be reviewed. The party said the government must have a forward-looking and comprehensive vision in order to bring the country out of its precarious situation once and for all and establish strategic stability.
