PDL supporters rally, call for release of Abir Moussi

Supporters of the Free Destourian Party (PDL) held a protest rally in front of the Ministry of Justice on Sunday to demand the release of the party's president, Abir Moussi. The demonstrators chanted slogans against the "exclusion of the opposition" and the "persecution" of the party leader. Karim Krifa, a member of the defence collective, said "the arbitrary arrest of the party leader will in no way weaken our determination to continue the militant struggle. And those who think otherwise should reconsider their calculations," he added. According to him, the case file "does not contain clear and precise charges against Abir Moussi (...), but only a police report". He called for the PDL president to be released as soon as possible. "The case file is currently in the hands of the chief investigating judge. He has not yet ruled on the case," said Krifa. The PDL president was arrested and transferred to the Bouchoucha remand prison in the capital on October 3, after being detained by security forces outside the Carthage Palace registry office. Two days later, the chief investigating magistrate issued a committal order for Abir Moussi.
