Addis Ababa: Members of the parliament (MPs) are directing questions to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed today at the session of the House of People's Representatives, which followed President Taye Atske Selassie's motion to the joint sessions of both legislative houses. The MPs are raising questions on a spectrum of pressing national issues and economic activities of the country. According to Ethiopian News Agency, those queries of MPs also encompass peace and security, institutional reforms, political space, law enforcement activities, challenges to create grand narrative and other pressing affairs. Furthermore, Members of the House extended appreciation to the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed which has enabled them to thwart unprecedented challenges and make the economy grow. Impressive results have been recorded in economy, diplomacy, and scoria spheres, as noted by the MPs. The Members of the parliament also highlighted success stories like the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), Green Legacy Initiative, the ongoing corridor development, agricultural as well as tourism initiatives. Ethiopia's House of Peoples Representatives is undertaking its 3rd regular meeting this morning in the presence of Prime Minister Abiy, it was indicated.
