Mass rally in Tunis to mark International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People

Citizens of all ages marched in Avenue Habib Bourguiba in Tunis on Wednesday to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The march was organised by the National Committee in Support of the Palestinian Resistance and was attended by representatives of political parties, the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) and the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT). Participants raised the Palestinian flag and chanted slogans praising the resistance of the Palestinian people. Speaking to reporters, coordinator of the Soumoud Coalition, Houssem Hammi, said that the resistance remains the essence and today it has proved to the whole world that it is able to face the challenge of war and the huge war machine of the brutal entity. He added that the support of the Arab peoples and all free consciences in the world for the resistance was able to create a balance of forces that forced the Zionist entity to retreat from its initial goals and plans and move towards a ceasefire and prison er exchange, which is an implicit recognition of the victory of the resistance. The commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with Palestine in Tunisia and the popular march by citizens of all ages and affiliations prove that the Tunisian people stand with one hand in support of the resistance and that Tunisia will always remain firm in its positions, he further indicated.
