Market capitalisation held by foreigners in the Tunis Stock Exchange in May 2023 amounted to 5.468 million dinars, that is 22.1% of overall capitalisation, according to the monthly newsletter of the securities market. Acquisitions by foreigners of traded securities totalled 35,583 thousand dinars against transfers (sales) of 3,480 thousand dinars, showing a net gain of 32,103 thousand dinars. Sectoral breakdown of securities held by foreigners in May 2023 is as follows: finance (239,789,886 securities), consumer goods (173,920,640) and services to consumers (17,719,290). Tunindex closed at 8,730.71 points, recording a gain of 5.46% after a rise of 1.84% in April. Since early 2023, accumulated gains reached 7.66% against 4.70% during the same period in 2022. Eighty companies are listed on the main market of the Tunis Stock Exchange.
