Lodges, Resorts Built Under “Dine for Ethiopia” Initiative to Commence Service in Weeks

Addis Ababa: Lodges and resorts constructed as part of the "Dine for Ethiopia" initiative to commence operation in the upcoming weeks, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew announced. Recall the Ethiopian Airlines had signed agreements with regional states to undertake the management and operation of lodges and resorts of the Dine for Ethiopia projects. Halala Kela Resort, Chebera Elephant Paw Lodge, Wonchi Eco Tourism, and Gorgora have been built in South West Ethiopia, Oromia and Amhara regions as part of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's "Dine for Ethiopia" initiative with a view to unlocking the country's tourism potential for economic development. As per the agreements, these lodges and resorts will be managed by the Skylight Hotel of the Ethiopian Airlines Group. The deal aims to elevate the tourism experience in Ethiopia through utilizing Ethiopian Airlines Group's extensive expertise in the hospitality industry and ensuring the provision of unparalleled services to visitors. Speaking to ENA, Ethiop ian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said Ethiopian Airlines has been in preparation to make the lodges and resorts commence operation in accordance with Ethiopian Skylight Hotel standards. The Gorgora Ecolodge has already started services, Mesfin disclosed, adding that the remaining three lodges will start operation in upcoming few weeks. The CEO further stated that in addition to expanding international destinations, Ethiopian Airlines has been strengthening domestic connections that would play crucial role in increasing the flow of tourists in to the country. The ongoing efforts of the government to develop infrastructures and tourist destinations have been creating opportunities for the Ethiopian Airlines to play its parts in promoting the tourism industry, he stressed. Moreover, the CEO announced plan to begin flights to tourism destination in the country where there are no airports by using small tourist aircrafts capable of landing on land and water.
