Local elections: El Ksour candidates focus on comprehensive development

Candidates in the run-off local elections in the El Ksour constituency, Kef governorate, Mohamed Sdira (409 votes, or 46.9% of the vote) and Ahlem Barhoumi (326 votes, or 37.39% of the vote), agreed on the need to stimulate development and reduce unemployment in the region. Candidate Mohamed Sdira, 50, an electrical engineer, highlighted the problem of youth unemployment and the lack of administrative services, and promised to work to limit the impact of these difficulties. The candidate's manifesto also includes support for people with special needs in terms of health and housing, as well as the creation of leisure facilities for families and children. For her part, candidate Ahlem Barhoumi pledged to improve administrative services in all public enterprises, ensure the supply of food on the market and pay particular attention to the agricultural sector in terms of supplying feed, seeds and fertilisers to the region's farmers. On the social front, she also stressed the need to pay greater attention to v ulnerable and disadvantaged groups, and promised to work towards providing housing and free health cards for those entitled to them, as well as creating means of subsistence.
