Local elections: Distribution of election material to polling centres scheduled for Dec. 23 (Bouasker)

The distribution of election material to polling centres is scheduled for December 23, the silence day, President of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) Farouk Bouasker indicated. The heads of the polling centres will be in charge of receiving the equipment, checking it and distributing it to the polling stations so that the polling centres can be opened to voters on December 24. In a statement to the media on Tuesday, during his visit to the local warehouse at the El Menzah national sporting neighbourhood, Bouasker explained that this visit is part of the final checking operations prior to the distribution of electoral material to polling centres. "These local elections are special because of the large number of electoral constituencies compared to the legislative or municipal elections, so it is important to check the material thoroughly to avoid any mistakes," he emphasised. Commenting on the electoral campaign, the ISIE President said that it is running smoothly, specifying that the c andidates have taken into account the particularity of proximity and based their campaigns on direct contact with voters.
