Kossi: An association advocates social cohesion through sport

Ouagadougou: The 'Yelen' cultural space association organized this Saturday, August 3, 2024 in Nouna, a day dedicated to the promotion of social cohesion through sport and board games. A popular cross took place early in the morning on the main artery of the city, followed by musical entertainment and an aerobics session, which marked the end of the sporting activities, on Saturday August 3, 2024 in Nouna. Following the sporting activities, a meal sharing took place between the internally displaced people and the host population. Individual board games, notably scrabble, ludo and cards took place in direct qualifiers, in the form of a championship. The pétanque game was also played as a team championship. The top three finishers in each game were rewarded. The first in each game received an envelope of 15,000 FCFA, the 2nd the sum of 10,000 FCFA and the 3rd 5,000 FCFA. 'The objective of this day is to cultivate the spirit of sharing and solidarity between the displaced populations and the host populati ons on the one hand and between the FDS, VDP and the populations on the other hand,' indicated the head of the association, Moussa Sangaré. The activity was funded by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC). Ronsard Paré was crowned champion in the game of scrabble, Lamine Forogo in ludo, Boureima Sissoko in the card game and Lassina Dama in queen. The organizers said they were satisfied with having taken up the challenge and helped reduce the stress linked to the security crisis experienced by the population.
