Kais Saied urges media to play its role in motivating citizens to participate in national consultation on education reform

President Kais Saied stressed on Wednesday evening the need for the national media to play its role in motivating citizens to participate in the national consultation on education reform. This came during a meeting he chaired at Carthage Palace in the presence of Education Minister Mohamed Ali Boughdiri, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Moncef Boukthir, CEO of the National Television Corporation Awatef Dali and CEO of the Tunisian Broadcasting Corporation Henda Ben Alaya Ghribi. The President stressed the importance of the national consultation on education reform as a prelude to the establishment of the Higher Education Council, saying: "There is no future without national public education. There is no future for any country without its human resources..." On the other hand, the Head of State urged the Minister of Education and the Minister of Transport to provide means of transport for students to go to school. He stressed the need for the right to freedom of movement guaranteed by the Constitution to become a tangible right in practice. The Ministry of Education launched the National Consultation on Education Reform on September 15. It will be extended for two consecutive months, according to an earlier statement by the Minister of Education. The national consultation on education reform, to which the Ministry of Education has dedicated an online platform https://e-istichara.edu.tn/home, aims to get to know the opinions of pupils, students, trainees, teachers, parents and all those interested in education issues. This is part of the effort to create a comprehensive vision for the reform of the education system at different levels (pre-school, basic, secondary, vocational and higher education). According to the updated data of the online platform of the National Consultation on Education Reform, more than 108,000 participants have been registered from the launch of the platform on September 15 until October 4.
