Japan’s Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs expected in Tunis on Thursday

Japanese Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Kenji Yamada is visiting Tunisia from June 15-17 to preside over the 11th session of the Tunisian-Japanese Joint Commission, together with the Tunisian Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Mounir Ben Rejiba. During his visit, Japanese official Kenji Yamada will hold meetings with senior Tunisian officials, to reaffirm the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Japan and Tunisia, and at the same time further develop cooperation in a wide range of fields. The Tunisian-Japanese Commission is a framework for political consultation between the two governments of Tunisia and Japan. It was set up in October 1984 during a visit to Japan by Tunisian Prime Minister Mohamed Mzali. The first session of the Commission was held in Tunis in 1985. Since then, it has been held regularly, alternating between Tokyo and Tunis.
