JAP-Hammamet 2023: CNOT and its Chinese counterpart sign partnership agreement

A partnership agreement aimed at supporting young Tunisians and promoting national sport was signed on Sunday in Hammamet between the Tunisian National Olympic Committee (CNOT) and its Chinese counterpart. The agreement was signed by CNOT President Mehrez Boussayène and Chinese Minister of Sport and President of the Chinese Olympic Committee Gao Zhidan at a ceremony attended by Minister of Youth and Sport Kamel Deguiche, Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) President Mustapha Berraf and a host of high-level officials from both countries. Speaking to TAP, Boussayène said that this agreement, which is in line with the "solid" relations binding Tunisia and China, aims to promote Tunisian sport. The agreement, whose negotiations with the Chinese side had begun in 2016, provides for the acquisition of sports equipment and materials, as well as the training of Tunisian sports managers, he added. The Chinese-Tunisian agreement will open up promising horizons in the fields of sport, economy and tourism, he underlined.
