ISIE: First round of local elections costs nearly 40 million dinars

The cost of the first round is estimated at 40 MD, member of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) Belgacem Ayachi told TAP, adding that this amount will reach 50 MD with the organization of the second round scheduled for next mid-February. This amount covers electoral logistics, he underscored, adding that the organization of the voting took up most of the expenses destined to public institutions (the Defence Ministry, the Official Printing Office, public media …). He pointed that a similar budget of 50 MD will be devoted to the presidential elections as well as the next municipal elections. Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
