ISIE discusses final draft revision of decision on rules and procedures for running for presidential elections

Tunis: The Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) held a working session on Wednesday to discuss the final version of the draft revision of its Decision No. 18 of August 4, 2014 on the rules and procedures of candidacy for the presidential elections, pending its official approval by the ISIE Board. The Electoral Commission said in a statement that the working session also included the presentation and discussion of the model of popular and parliamentary endorsement. The working session is part of the meetings held by ISIE President Farouk Bouasker with the various structures and departments of the Commission in preparation for the upcoming presidential elections. On February 14, 2024, the Authority's Board of Directors requested the Central Legal Department to prepare a draft text to revise the Authority's Decree No. 18 of 2014 on the rules and procedures for candidacy in the presidential elections, in line with the provisions of Articles 89 and 90 of the 2022 Constitution.
