Head of State stresses at meeting with PM “role of administration in implementing state policy”

President Kais Saied met on Monday with Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani at the Carthage Palace. The meeting focused on the general functioning of the government. In particular, the President of the Republic stressed the role of the administration in the implementation of state policy and the need to speed up cleaning it from all those who seek to disrupt any public institution, "a phenomenon that has worsened in recent weeks at central, regional and local levels". The President was quoted in a statement by the Presidency as saying that the administration in general is at the service of the citizens and "is not an arena for battles between parties or pressure groups that hide behind it". The Head of State pointed out that the Tunisian administration is full of skilled people that have seen the doors of decision-making positions blocked in front of them. "These skilled can replace those who did not carry out their duties properly and who, moreover, disturbed the interests of citizens and violated the duty of discretion imposed on them". The President of the Republic also called on the Prime Minister to continue the joint operations carried out by several ministries to eliminate monopolies and deliberate price increases, and to continue monitoring the so-called distribution channels, which in most cases operate outside any legal framework. "This was confirmed by the thousands of tonnes recently seized in all regions of the republic," said the same source.
