Gafsa: six individuals including former governor arrested on charges of suspected corruption

Six people, including a former governor and former secretary general of the governorate, were arrested, on Tuesday, on suspicion of corruption in the allocation of taxi service permits.

Deputy prosecutor and spokesperson for Gafsa courts Halim Abeda said the prosecutor's office ordered the arrest of six people, including a former governor and a former secretary general as well as two current employees of the governorate. They are suspected of forging official documents and issuing taxi service permits without following proper procedures.

Two members of the advisory committee for granting taxi service permits in Gafsa governorate were also arrested.
