Gabes Regional Council member Mohamed El Kdiri has been elected to represent the governorate in the Fifth District Council, which includes the governorates of Kebili, Gabes, Medenine and Tataouine. The thirteen members of the Gabes Regional Council voted for Mohamed Kdiri, who was the only candidate to stand for the post.
