Foreign Minister meets his Algerian counterpart in Algiers

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, during a meeting with his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf, in Algiers on Monday, stressed the importance of strengthening communication and exchanges of views between African and Northern European countries on issues related to development, security and peace on the African continent.

The two ministers reviewed the latest developments in the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, in particular the aggression by the Israeli entity on the Gaza Strip, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

They stressed the need to intensify efforts to stop this aggression, which affects civilians and children, and the need for the international community to confront the attempts aimed at displacing the Palestinian people and dispossessing them of their land.

Nabil Ammar began a two-day visit to the Algerian capital on Monday, during which he is heading the Tunisian delegation participating in the 20th North Africa Foreign Ministers Meeting (NAFM).

The Forum is a high-level interactive political platform that brings together foreign ministers from a number of African countries with their Nordic counterparts to discuss a number of regional and continental issues of interest.

These include, in particular, the issue of education in Africa, the promotion of the peace and security agenda in Africa, the consolidation of multilateral cooperation to address the many challenges facing the African continent, as well as ways to foster the African-Nordic partnership and increase Nordic countries' investment in the continent.
