Foreign Affairs Minister meets with his Mauritanian and Ethiopian counterparts

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, Wednesday, had a meeting with his Mauritanian and Ethiopian counterparts, as part of his participation in the 44th session of the Executive Council of the African Union. In a press release published by the Foreign Affairs Ministry, "the minister congratulate his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Salem Ould Marzouk, on Mauritania's presidency of the African Union during 2024", reiterating "Tunisia's support for this decision." The two officials also reviewed "the strong historical ties" between the two countries, expressing "mutual commitment to boosting bilateral cooperation in various fields." The Foreign Minister also congratulated his Ethiopian counterpart Taye Atske Selassie on his new appointment as head of Ethiopian diplomacy and handed him an invitation to make a working visit to Tunisia. The two ministers also expressed their common will to increase political bilateral consultations. The meeting also focused on a number of r egional and international issues of mutual interest. The Minister of Foreign Affairs is leading aTunisian delegation to the 44th session of the Executive Council of the African Union in Addis Ababa, from February 14 and 15, 2024, as part of the preparations for the 37th session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the African Union which will be held on February 17 and 18.
