FM, Maltese counterpart meet to discuss prospects for cooperation in various fields and illegal migration

The prospects for cooperation in several areas and the issue of illegal migration were the focus of a meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, and Ian Borg, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Trade, at the Ministry's headquarters on Monday. The two sides discussed prospects for cooperation, particularly in the fields of employment, vocational training, energy and tourism, as well as ways of combating irregular migration as part of a global approach based on partnership and the promotion of investment in both countries. During the meeting, the historic friendly relations between Tunisia and Malta were commended and the determination of the parties to further strengthen them in the interests of the two friendly peoples in the post-Covid-19 phase was hailed. The meeting took place on the occasion of the official visit to Tunisia of Maltese Prime Minister, Robert Abela, at the head of a high-level government delegation.
