FM and Iranian counterpart discuss over phone efforts to halt aggression on Gaza

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, received on Monday, a telephone call from his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, on the brutal aggression against the Gaza Strip and ways to immediately stop this aggression.

The two ministers stressed the heinous nature of the crimes committed by the occupying entity and its policy of genocide against the innocent and defenceless Palestinian civilians, children, women and the elderly, in flagrant defiance of all international conventions and divine and humanitarian laws.

The two ministers praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people against the occupation, a ministry statement said. They stressed the need for the international community to assume its political and moral responsibility to stop the aggression, prevent any attempt to expel the Palestinians from their land, provide the Palestinian people with the necessary protection and allow them to receive the necessary humanitarian aid.

The two ministers reaffirmed the importance of the extraordinary ministerial meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation on the military escalation in Gaza, scheduled for Wednesday in Jeddah.

They emphasised the need to coordinate the position of the Islamic States and to strengthen their efforts and their plan of action at the regional and international levels to impose an immediate end to this aggression.
