Ethiopian Delegation Arrives in Tanzania to Attend Continental Summit

An Ethiopian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonen has arrived in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania today to participate in the African Human Capital Heads of State Summit.

The summit will take place from 25-26 July 2023, it was learned.

Upon arrival at the Julius Nyerere International Airport this morning, Demeke and his entourage were warmly welcomed by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Tanzania, Ambassador Mbarouk N. Mbarouk, Ethiopian Ambassador to Tanzania, Shibru Mamo and other diplomats.

The African Human Capital Heads of State Summit hosted by the Government of Tanzania at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre will focus on accelerating Africa’s economic growth through addressing learning poverty and skill gaps.

The summit comes in response to engagements with government focal points on the need to draw attention to the role of human capital in economic growth and elevate the discussion on the importance of investing in people.

It will foster technical deliberation, share the latest knowledge on human capital, and conclude with concrete commitments and next steps from the participating Heads of State.
