Addis Ababa: Ethiopian Airlines, Africa's largest airline and a member of the Star Alliance, has officially launched the commencement of its new five weekly flights to Dhaka, Bangladesh, starting from early this month. This new route will further strengthen Ethiopian's presence in South Asia, providing convenient connections between Bangladesh and key destinations across Africa and beyond, it was learned. According to Ethiopian News Agency, as the airline is set to operate five flights weekly, it will offer travelers from Bangladesh access to over 155 destinations worldwide, including major cities across Africa, Europe, North America, and other regions. The new service is expected to facilitate easier travel and enhance connectivity for passengers. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Ethiopian Airlines Group Chief Commercial Officer, Lema Yadecha, highlighted the significance of this development for both Ethiopia and Bangladesh, emphasizing how it strengthens socio-economic cooperation between the two natio ns. On his part, Bangladesh Ambassador to Ethiopia, Sikder Bodiruzzaman, noted that this milestone is a testament to the cooperation between the two countries. He further stated that the new flight would serve as a gateway to boost business cooperation, investment, and economic prosperity. Additionally, the ambassador expressed that it is a promise to deepen socio-cultural ties between the people of Ethiopia and Bangladesh.
