The electoral data of 19,641 voters have been updated in Kairouan governorate ahead of the local elections, with the first round scheduled for December 24, 2023. In this regard, Coordinator of the Local Authority for Elections (IRIE) Bassem Halaoua told TAP that the Authority has initiated a series of meetings with public institutions' officials in the region to raise awareness about their participation in this upcoming electoral event. He specified that the acceptance of local election candidate nominations will commence on October 23 and continue until November 1 in the "Aziz Miled" hall, downtown Kairouan. It is noteworthy that the IRIE in Kairouan has deployed 138 agents, 41 mobile teams, and 56 permanent offices to successfully carry out the process of updating electoral lists in all constituencies of the governorate.
