Dodoma:Tanzania and Russia have agreed to enhance their collaboration in agriculture and tourism, aiming to boost economic development in both countries. According to Nam News Network, This was announced by Tanzania’s Minister for Planning and Investment, Prof. Kitila Mkumbo, following a business forum and joint commission meeting with Russia’s Minister for Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnkov. The two countries signed agreements on agriculture, healthcare, renewable energy, education, and tourism.

Key points from the agreements include: - Strengthening agricultural ties, especially in fertiliser production, to meet Tanzania's demands. - Promoting tourism through the introduction of direct flights from Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam to Moscow. - Enhancing cultural ties by introducing Swahili language courses in Russian universities. - Establishing industries in Tanzania to produce goods tailored to local needs.

Trade between Tanzania and Russia has been growing, with imports from Russia more than doubling in the past year. The two ministers plan to hold another bilateral meeting in Russia next May to further these discussions.
