District council elections to be held on March 13Prime Minister Abiy Holds Discussion with Foreign Minister of Denmark

Tunis: The election of members of the councils of the five districts will be held, on Wednesday, March 13, said spokesperson for the Independent High Authority of Elections (ISIE) Mohamed Tlili Mnasri. Speaking to TAP, on Friday, Mnasri pointed out that local bodies will supervise the organization of district council elections, adding that the body will rule on the candidacies and potential appeals of members before the elections. Regarding the Criminal Record Certificates (Bulletin No. 3) required from candidates for district councils, Mnasri explained that this condition aims to update the criminal records of candidates after the end of the election period. The deadline for submitting applications for the five districts is Friday, March 8 at 6 p.m, reads a press release of the ISIE. According to Decree Law No. 2023-10 of March 8, 2023 regulating the elections of local councils and the composition of local councils and district councils " members of each regional council will elect a single representativ e for the district council. Each elected official chooses a single candidate without deletion, change or addition.
