” Digital technology for health governance ” theme of 8th session of International Forum on Digital Health

"Tunisia has recorded a breakthrough in the establishment of the computer system in the field of health, thanks to the skills of the national centre of information technology under the Ministry of Health," said Director General of Health Abderrazek Bouzouita, during a speech entitled "the computer system of health in Tunisia", presented as part of the international forum of Reality "the digital in the service of the governance of health" which is currently taking place in Hammamet.

In this context, he stressed that this centre has developed 32 computer systems as part of a network of systems linked to the central system, bringing together the various hospitals and health services, in addition to the management of medicines and the reception of patients and the digitisation of emergency services in 10 hospitals.

In addition, he noted that 95 % of the medicines available in hospitals have a unique identifier, noting that the medicines management system now allows instant information on the availability of medicines and the use of stocks.

Referring to the financial aspect and health costs, he said that all parties involved are working during this period to promote IT solutions for the implementation of an immediate billing system to provide more transparency to the costs of care, as part of good governance of financial management of hospitals.

For his part, President of the International Forum on Digital Health Reality Taieb Zahar said in a statement to TAP that this meeting is a new opportunity to highlight the importance of digitization of the health sector in Tunisia given its impact on the health of citizens and its role in the establishment of good governance practices.
