Date: Export revenues amount to TND 634.6 million at end of May 2023

Tunisia's revenues from date exports amounted to TND 634.6 million at the end of May 2023, down 1.6% compared to the same period of the 2021/2022 season, according to data published by the National Agricultural Observatory (ONAGRI) on Monday. From the start of the season to the end of May 2023, the volume of dates exported reached 106,500 tonnes, a decrease of 3.6% compared with the same period last year. The average price for the first eight months of the season went up by 2.1% to 5.96 DT/kg, compared to 5.84 DT/kg in the same period of the previous season. The Deglet Ennour variety accounted for 87.7% of the quantities exported, i.e. 93,400 tonnes valued at TND 602.6 million. Morocco is the main importer of Tunisian dates, accounting for 21.0% of the quantities exported, followed by Italy (7.8%) and France (7.6%).
